DESCRIPTION
Drink in nature’s vibrant wildness with beautifully aged high-elevation Cabernet Sauvignon. Situated above the fog line at 2,200 feet in the Mayacamas Range and planted on a steep 30% grade, Rockfall Vineyard is a rugged site that sees intense sun exposure. Mountain sunlight imparts textural depth and richness, while a complex bedrock formation under the soil is echoed in the wine’s minerality. This three-bottle collection explores bold plum, tobacco leaf, and dark chocolate in 2011 (93 points, Antonio Galloni, Vinous, Mar. 2014); spices, blueberry, and black pepper in 2012 (96 points, Robert M. Parker Jr, Robert Parker Wine Advocate, Dec. 2014); and pomegranate and cedar notes in 2013 (95 points, Robert M. Parker Jr., Robert Parker Wine Advocate, Oct. 2016). The spirit of our estate speaks through the wines’ unbridled structure and velvety tannins. Ground shipping and gift packaging are included.

Pocket Peak

Our vineyards lie within the proposed Pocket Peak American Viticultural Area (AVA) in the eastern highlands of the Alexander Valley AVA.

Pocket Peak is defined by its elevated topography and distinctions in climate, precipitation, and soils. The petition to establish Pocket Peak as a new AVA was filed with the Alcohol and Tobacco Tax and Trade Bureau in February 2022.

Alexander Valley

The Stonestreet winery and tasting room sit on the tranquil valley floor facing the mountains where we farm our fruit.

The Alexander Valley AVA was made official in 1984, and it outlines the path of the Russian River flowing from Mendocino County down to Healdsburg. Grapes were grown commercially in this valley as early as the 1840s and gained a reputation for superb quality in the 1960s and ‘70s. The proposed Pocket Peak AVA will distinguish between grapes grown at high elevation—including Stonestreet fruit—and grapes grown in the valley below.
